Dear Colleagues,
We warmly invite you to join us at the 9th Australian Peptide Conference, which will be held from 16th – 20th October 2011, in the spectacular resort location of Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland.
The general theme of the conference will be “Peptides – by Discovery and Design”.
This meeting, like the eight successful meetings before it, will be truly international in nature and will be based on the successful format of the U.S. Gordon Conferences. There will be plenty of opportunity for attendees to meet and interact informally as well as more formally at the structured scientific sessions.
The scientific program will be theme driven and structured around both international and national invited speakers and oral presentations of selected, high-quality submitted abstracts, as well as a series of poster sessions where all delegates are encouraged to present their data. We are currently developing an exciting program that will include recent advances in peptide science ranging from new synthetic procedures, biology, pharmacology and physiology to the discovery of peptides with novel biological properties, methods for their functional and structural analysis, innovative approaches to elucidate peptide-ligand interactions and new approaches to drug delivery, as well as the emergence of peptide mimetics and peptide-based therapeutics.
Hamilton Island is situated in the heart of the Whitsundays and is one of 74 tropical islands that lie between the Queensland Coast and The Great Barrier Reef. The Island is accessible from major airports in Australia via its own airport. This outstanding venue will allow delegates the opportunity to experience many of the highlights of Australia including superb beaches, spectacular geological attractions, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, unique flora and fauna and, of course, gourmet food and wine. Hamilton Island also offers new world-class facilities with the newly opened Hamilton Island Golf Club and superb accommodation.
We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting in October for what will be a true feast of peptide science and an outstanding experience both scientifically and socially.
